Indie music is definitely back this year! Legendary indie and alternative rock bands are coming together for a highly awaited North American tour, and we’re all invited! Broken Social Scene has also announced their newest album after nearly a decade, and fans are equally stoked for Remember the Humans, which will be launched a bit later after Metric’s studio album. Rolling Stone has included Canadian indie rock act Metric on the list of The 50 Greatest Canadian Artists of All Time, and it’s a well-earned honor for the band. With multiple Juno Awards, the release of their newest album follows the massive commercial and critical success of their previous studio albums. The band has been known for their hits like Black Sheep, Help I’m Alive, and Breathing Underwater, and their passion for their craft is obvious when they perform on stage. Frontwoman Emily Haines has expressed the band’s enthusiasm to be back on the stage, saying she wishes to remind people that “there’s life to be had”.
Broken Social Scene is more than just your typical band; it’s a music collective. At some point, there have been as many as nineteen members of the group. But regardless of their number, the indie rock act has delivered some of the most remarkable tracks of their genre, like Anthems for a Seventeen Year-Old Girl, Cause = Time, and 7/4.
